Previously, he was traded to the Houston Rockets before the trade deadline last week. After negotiating a buyout with Houston, he was released as a free agent and found a new team.
To him, Cleveland is like his parents’ home. He was selected in the second round of the 2009 draft and made his NBA debut.
After that he went through the San Antonio Spurs, Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers. He recorded 8.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 822 career games.
His playoff experience is also rich. He played 165 games in the playoffs alone, including contributing to championships with San Antonio in 2014, Toronto in 2019 and the Lakers in 2020.
This season, he only appeared in 3 games for the Memphis Grizzlies due to injury. He played for the first time on February 2nd.
Although he did not show much, many teams showed interest in his experience of contributing to three championships. Not only Cleveland, but also other teams such as the Boston Celtics and the Lakers are said to be targeting him.
ESPN expects Green to serve as a 3-point shooter and defender off the bench, and he will play a role in guiding young players on their way to the playoffs.
