The winning trophy of the 5th World Baseball Classic (WBC), which opens in March, has been unveiled.
The WBC organizing committee introduced the 2023 WBC championship trophy through official SNS on the 23rd (Korean time). The championship trophy will be displayed until the 25th (Sat) at the MLB store in New York, USA.
A total of 20 countries will participate in this tournament, starting with the match between Cuba and the Netherlands on March 8 (Wednesday) in Taichung, Taiwan. 먹튀검증
While being held in four regions around the world, the Korean national baseball team will face off against Japan (10th), the Czech Republic (12th) and China (13th), starting with the match against Australia held at Tokyo Dome, Japan on March 9th (Thursday). The Korean national team, led by head coach Lee Kang-cheol, is aiming to pass the first round by finishing in second place in Group B.
Meanwhile, according to the US media ‘CBS’, the total prize money of this WBC tournament is 14.4 million dollars (approximately 18.8 billion won), and the winning prize is 1 million dollars (approximately 1.3 billion won). The prize money is divided in half between the athletes and the federation, and the amount going to the winning country’s athletes reaches 1.5 million dollars (approximately 1.955 billion won).
